Running down…I hate Gym!!
In the dark vortex, the
power, which governed the chaos, stared darkly at her minion. “What new
power disrupts our plans, Faris?” the voice said, echoing endlessly. Faris
looked up at the figure with his piercing crimson eyes. “I do not know. Their
power is familiar, yet they cannot be the same warriors we fought before.” The
figure on the throne’s power seemed to echo the vortex in anger. “Have you
found a new source of energy for the shadow gate?” Faris gave a smug smile.
“Yes. I will go now to set the plan in motion.” Faris vanished into the
shadows. The other 5 figures laughed with a laugh that shook the void. “For
your sake…” one of the figures said, clearly female, “we hope you do!”
Matt woke up groggily. She just couldn’t get the recent events off her mind. Not only was she now a sailor senshi (whatever that means) but also now she was a girl. To make it worst, it had only happened yesterday. Those girls even left behind without much of an explanation. “Life sucks!!” she said out loud to herself. Heading for the shower, she tried to think this over. The water was heavenly, as it always was during the morning before school. “Why did those girls seem so familiar? I feel that I’ve met them before somewhere.” She mused to herself. Man, this body is going to be hard to get used to, she thought as she washed her back. As she got out, she remembered to grab the bandages that Haruka gave her. “OW!!” she said as she wrapped her chest tight and tied it off. “Well, I hope that holds for the rest of the day!!” “Matt! Breakfast!” Matt’s mom yelled. Luckily for Matt, no one really paid attention in the morning. In the living room, Matt quietly ate her cereal. His mom smiled to her, while her sister, Jessie, looked at her with suspicion. “You seem…different.” She said to Matt, narrowing her eyes. “Um..No, I’m my usual self!” Matt said, deepening her voice a bit and trying not to seem suspicious. Matt could still feel her sister’s eyes on her, so she was relived when it was time to leave.
The school day was the normal routine in the first hour. English, with reviewing the plots of books and plays over and over and over. Ellie was there. She was in all Matt’s classes. “Hey! Matt!…” she said in her usual cheerfulness. Matt turned around and got the same suspicion look that she got from her sister. “Matt, something’s different…” Matt’s face grew wet with sweat. How could she explain? “I know! You shaved!!” she said suddenly. Matt nearly fell off her chair. “Yeah..Yeah..That’s it!” That was a close call. Matt then suddenly remembered something. “Hey, don’t we have something going on in gym?” Ellie looked at Matt like she was some kind of alien. “We run the mile today! You forgot about that!!!” Matt’s face lost all its color. “Oh…crap!” Of all the things in gym, Matt hated the mile. She was always the last person. It was a nightmare. To make it worse, it was the next hour!! Matt buried her head in her arms, repeating the word ‘crap, crap, crap… Suddenly, she jerked her head up. Something was wrong, something very wrong…but it would have to wait. There were more important things to do. Outside, Faris watched a gym class run the mile. He carefully dropped a dark crystal into a pile of gym equipment. “Hmmm…it won’t be long now…hahaha!” he said smugly to himself as the equipment glowed red…

The heat was unbearable. Matt could feel the sweat soak into her bandages. It was getting itchy under there. She started to scratch when the teacher came out. “Alright every one. Let’s getting ready. Here is your sheet. Fill it out after your done running, fill out your time.” Ms. Peters said in her usual manner. Matt was still scratching herself, when ellie came by. “So do you think you’re ready for this?” Matt turned to face her. “I’m never ready for this. You know that!!” she said, disguising her voice slightly. “Well, it looks like we’ll see for sure.” Ellie said, pointing out the fact that everyone was lining up for the run. Matt sighed and got in place. “OKAY PEOPLE!!” Ms. Peters yelled at the top of her lungs, “READY, SET,…AND GO!!!” Matt started to run at her top speed, but she knew she couldn’t keep it up. Suddenly a huge shockwave hit the students from the side. The dust was tremendous. As it cleared, Matt could make out a shape standing over the unconscious gym teacher. It was a blue skinned, red haired woman. She was dressed in a tank top with the # 0. She laughed at the students. “Volly-volly-volly-volly Oh!!! Take a run and your energy will be mine!!” she said as she shot a ball of energy at them, causing them to run. Suddenly, they seem to run continually around the track, their energy being sucked into Volly-oh’s baseball glove. Matt had managed to separate herself from the others. Seeing this problem. She pulled out her transformation wand. “Q PLANET POWER…MAKE UP!!” Volley-Oh laughed as continued to collect energy from the helpless students, who were still running around. Suddenly a whistle blew, causing Volley-Oh to lose her concentration. The students stopped and collapsed. “What the hell?” The Sin-Jin turned to see a figure silhouetted against the sun. “You do know that you’re interrupting our workout routine?” she said in a peeved voice. “ Enough of that!! I am the senshi of wind and wisdom! I am Sailor Q!!” Sailor Q pointed a finger straight at Volley-Oh. “And this your last exercise routine!!” Volley-Oh sneered. “You think so?” A ball of energy formed in her right hand. “BATTERS UP” She screamed as she threw it straight at Q’s chest. Sailor Q nearly fell off the building roof trying to dodge the shot. Managing to land on her two feet. “Well, is that the best shot you’ve got?” Q said smugly. Sailor Q ran full speed, kicking Volley-Oh in the stomach. Volley-Oh shot backwards and hit the building. Getting up, she created what looked like a energy soccer ball. “Here!! Take a kick!!” she shouted as she kicked the energy bomb at Q. Q simply jumped and kicked it straight back at Volley-Oh, the energy ball exploding on contact. Sailor Q followed this up with a Q wind Blast, which restored the gym equipment. “Talk about a warm up!” Q said as she wiped her brow. Suddenly, she could hear applause from behind her. She turned to face the crowds of students. “Hey! That was great!!” Ellie said to her, “I wish I could fight like you!!!” Q realizes that none of the students recognized her. “You know…” one of the male students went closer to her, “you’re kinda cute!” Q could feel herself blush, but she quickly snapped out of it. Sailor Q jumped on top of the building and was about to leave, when ellie came forward. “Who are you?” she said. Sailor Q turned to face the girl. “I’m called Sailor Q!” she said before she quickly jumped down behind the building out of view. Faris, meanwhile, having seen all this quickly disappeared into the shadows.

Matt: “ They say the play is the thing and that’s where I’m headed. But something’s wrong with the actors!! What terrible thing is plaguing this production? Next time on Sailor Q: An American Senshi, Thou art…What!! You better watch it or I’ll punish you!!”
