[21:44] *** Meanwhile, back at what once was a cavern, Ruri can be seen kneeling on the ground in a seize position, hands neatly clasped in front of her, eyes closed. Her body emits a soft hum, glowing the swirling stolen energies of blue, silver blue, and blue-green.

[21:54] *** Gren-gar is looking incredibly worse for wear after all of these blasts! Chunks of him have been blasted, eroded away. A lot of the organic materials he had infused his body with here form Earth has already fallen off of him.
[21:54] * Sailor Europa lands on the strong sand pillar, grateful.
[21:55] * Neo Sailor Mercury crashes to the ground, having lost her wings.
[21:55] *** Triton and Europa's wings disappear...

[21:55] * Yukari Yakumo uses even more portals against Gren-gar to try and rip away yet more matter off of the thing.
[21:55] * Ruri Hauyne quickly gets to her feet, running out to the entrance of what was once the cavern.
[21:55] * Super Sailor Nix and Nereid head over to help Neo Mercury up. Cubus uses his claws to deliver lacerations to Gren-Gar's body!

[21:56] * Neo Sailor Mercury relies of Nix and Nereid as they help her to her feet.
[21:56] * Ruri Hauyne sends a telepathic image to Sailor Europa.
[21:57] *** Sailor Europa sees a softly glowing, pale brown stone deep in the center of Grengar's body; it's almost serene looking. It pulses like a heartbeat.

[22:18] *** The lava manages to hit Daniel's vehicle!!

[22:46] *** The light from the explosion starts to subside. As it clears, the crater in which they fought has become smooth, flat, land; glass-like in appearance. A gentle curve upwards to the lip of the crater is pleasing to the eye.

[21:35] * The Reaper Leviathan SNAPS at Monica with that mouth!
[21:36] * Monica quickly rolls to one side, using her momentum to deliver a kick intended to shatter its jaw into dust!
[21:37] * The Reaper Leviathan lets out a sound like an "URK" upon impact and speeds past Monica. The blow definitely hurt it, but this thing is clearly bred to absorb damage.
[21:38] * The Reaper Leviathan clamps onto the submarine again and starts trying to pull it down!

[20:33] *** The mapping sonar is activated, which puts a bit of a strain on the power reserves, but with the thermocouples working the power drain is reduced to a manageable trickle.
[20:34] * Monica checks the mapping sonar. What're things looking like so far?
[20:35] *** Everyone gets to see a highly detailed image of everything around the submarine as she continues to slowly sail through the middle of the passage. There are quite a lot of fish swimming around even here, and the passage is mostly straight, about 50 meters wide and almost twice as high.

[20:47] <Fiona> This pretty much confirms a theory I have.
[20:47] <Monica> Huh, almost like if Scorching Flame were to be suddenly flooded...
[20:48] <Fiona> This whole area we're all in is actually the summit of an extinct volcano!

[20:50] <Fiona> Geological scans indicate that the rock down here is at least 10000 years old. All of the volcanic activity is mostly residual, but all of this heat must be the main reason why life is flourishing here.
[20:51] <Fiona> Out past the edges of the Aurora Plateau it rapidly slopes downwards and cools off. The only things that seem to live in the Void is either microscopic or Ghost Leviathans.
[20:52] <Fiona> With all the heat being created here it's no wonder that the sea life here is thriving so much.
[20:52] <Fiona> It also makes perfect sense that the aliens built a power facility here.
[20:54] *** The FTO continues to sail forward, oblivious to several slug-like creatures that lazily swim up to the hull and clamp on like leeches or lamprey eels.
[20:55] <Monica> Plenty of geothermal power to work off of... I wonder what all they had down here.
[20:55] *** There are also quite a few Warpers swimming around. Their strange binaric cries echo faintly in the distance, and occasionally one disappears or appears in a swirling sphere of scintillating white light.
[20:57] <Patricia Martin> Power's still looking good. If we stagger our use of the mapping sonar, we can quickly recharge the ship to full capacity pretty quickly.
[20:58] <Patricia Martin> As long as we're down here in this lava zone, our range will be almost unlimited.

The ceiling is easily over 100 meters above the sub and the walls are beyond visual range. Although, the distant glow of active lava pools and geothermal vents has made the water here murky and surreal.

[21:14] <Fiona> By my estimatation, this cavern is at least a kilometer across. You could fit an Exeter-class destroyer in here.
[21:17] <Officer Kagami Hiiragi> Take us in slow, Ayano. Stay at least 10 meters off the floor. If something DID kill that Reaper that would mean that a creature bigger than IT was down here when it happened.

[21:47] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) trills excitedly as she fall downwards, the Exosuit landing on solid ground with a satisfying THUD.
[21:48] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) flexes the exosuit's gripper claw and briefly revs the mining drill for a moment, then turns around and looks upwards.

[21:51] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) sees that there are now over a DOZEN thick, slug-like creatures attached to the hull of the FTO. The things are all upwards of four to five feet long with thick segmented bodies the texture of hardened leather. And they're ALL covering the thermocouple conversion panels like they're being attracted to them for some reason.
[21:55] <Fiona> Oh crap, those things are either blocking the panels or siphoning electricity OUT of our vessel. Clear them off!
[21:59] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) sees even more "Lava Grubs" slowly undulating through the water closer to the submarine.

[20:19] <Fiona> We'd have to use Mr Fister to get to the power plant and explore inside. And I should go with Alex because if there are active dataterms inside I'll the best suited to access them.

[20:38] *** At the same time, Sylvester enters the water with a Seaglide underwater thruster unit. He's got one of the decoys on his back, and another for Monica to carry.
[20:39] * Monica accepts the decoy from Sylvester, and propels herself through the water to the point she needs to be at for this excursion.
[20:44] *** As you're travelling, you get a great view of the broken uneven floor of the cavern, punctuated by high narrow stalagmites and thermal vents that point upwards like accusing fingers.
[20:45] *** Cracks in the floor, small and large, drop further downwards, terminating in pools of brightly glowing lava.
[20:46] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) stomps forward with Fiona, the distance between them and their waypoint slowly but surely dwindling.
[20:47] *** A deep draconian bellow rings out in the distance, and a wave of water pushes at Chibi-Sylvester and Monica like a strong breeze, caused by massive water displacement.

[20:53] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ Hey. We've got a visual. Ahead of us there's a big jagged hill that's right in the center of this cavern.
[20:54] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ I see several lavafalls coming out of it, and lots of thermal vents and fumaroles. According to the waypoint indicator, the alien power plant is supposed to be in the middle of it.

[21:10] * Monica blinks at this, but gets to holding the Seaglide still. Just what is Sylvester planning?
[21:16] * Chibi-Sylvester works feverishly to cut and tear the duct tape into numerous strips and fasten them onto the Seaglide as securely as possible, then tries to attach the decoy to the tape as well.
[21:17] * Chibi-Sylvester knows that duct tape doesn't handle water well, so he's rolling the tape into cords and tying knots.
[21:18] * Chibi-Sylvester applies tape around the handles so that they'll stay pressed once Monica lets go.
[21:18] <Chibi-Sylvester> It's like what Fiona and Crewman Martin were saying earlier.
[21:19] <Chibi-Sylvester> But what if instead of attaching a motor to the decoy, we attach the decoy to something that already HAS a motor!

[21:22] * Chibi-Sylvester has used DUCT TAPE to create a very crude harness for the Seaglide to drag the decoy behind it.

[21:25] * Chibi-Sylvester presses the activation button before Monica lets the revving Seaglide go.
[21:26] * Monica releases her grip. Watch that Seaglide live up to its name!
[21:26] *** The Seaglide rockets forward through the water at a blistering 15 mph!!! Which, in reality IS pretty fast underwater.
[21:27] <The decoy> starts emtting THIS sound, quite loudly too. And sound travels VERY WELL in water.

[21:39] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) engages the jump jets and makes her way up the steep, sheer, uneven face of the hill, giving any glowing cracks or lava pools a wide berth.
[21:39] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ That's it! It's a pair of alien lampposts outside the mouth of a cave. You know, those obelisk things that glow green.
[21:40] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ They had to have been deliberately placed, so that cave must lead somewhere. We're going in to investigate.
[21:41] <Chibi-Sylvester> Let's get back to the FTO in the meantime, Monica. How fast can you swim?
[21:42] <Monica> I can move pretty quick. Let's go.
[21:42] <Chibi-Sylvester> I can't swim as fast without a Seaglide though.
[21:43] *** In the distance, the Sea Dragon launches what looks like a huge fireball at the Seaglide noisemaker!
[21:43] <Monica> Then hold on to me.
[21:47] * Chibi-Sylvester holds on to Monica's waist.
[21:48] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) and Fiona enter the cave opening, quickly discovering that it is in fact the beginning of a passage that leads further into the hill.

[19:21] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) continues to march the Exosuit deeper down the tunnel. Every so often she and Fiona emerge into small caverns traversed by natural bridges. Around them lava trickles down through vents in the ceiling into brightly-glowing pools of magma below.
[19:23] * Fiona stares in fascination at the reptilian forms swimming almost eel-like within the super-heated water. They're nowhere near as massive as the Sea Dragon outside, but their oversized Angler-like jaws look like they could give nasty nips.
[19:24] *** Meanwhile, back on the F[BLEEP]k the Ocean, Monica and Chibi-Sylvester have returned safely.
[19:29] <Monica> How're things here?
[19:29] * Chibi-Sylvester is rummaging around like crazy in the storage chamber.
[19:34] <Chibi-Sylvester> Monica, can you get the other spare noise decoy for me? And another roll of duct tape.

[19:39] * Chibi-Sylvester has an idea.
[19:39] * Officer Kagami Hiiragi has the submarine in silent running mode and has all of the sensors running.

[19:52] *** Meanwhile, Chibi-Alex and Fiona continue deeper into the mountain. The thermometer continues to rise steadily, and many valuable mineral deposits like sapphire crystals and sulfur poke out of the walls in places.
[19:53] <Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister)> ♦ Whoa! I think we've found it!
[20:04] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) finishes maneuvering the suit through an opening in the wall and peers out into the huge cavern at the heart of the mountain. Suspended over a lake of molten rock by armor-plated cables as thick as 18-wheelers is a massive structure that looks like some kind of cubist sculpture.
[20:04] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) sends pictures back to everyone.
[20:08] <Fiona> ♦ I'm detecting some serious power readings from that thing. It's generating at least several thousand megawatts of power every minute.
[20:15] * The Forest Kits flood the submaring, with clean food and water :D :# :3 :3
[20:17] <The Forest Kits> We're HERE! :D
[20:19] <Chibi-Sylvester> Hey there!
[20:20] *** Meanwhile, Mr Fister jumps from the ledge it's on and soaks out across the empty space, landing on one of the nearest cables. Chibi-Alex waits a few seconds for the jump jets to recharge to full power, then jumps onto the roof of the structure to seek an entrance.
[20:22] <Crewman Konata Izumi> HAVE THE FLUFFIES RETURNED TO ME?!
[20:22] * Crewman Konata Izumi puts on her fox ear headband and rushes out to find them! :3
[20:23] * Pinako pops out of the pile of kits :D

[20:24] *** Chibi-Alex moves the exosuit towards the edge of the structure, discovering an active force field extending over an opening in the side!
[20:26] *** Firing jump jets in short controlled bursts, Chibi-Alex carefully steps off the top of the alien structure, drops down, then pushes through the force field into the dry, much-cooler interior of the facility.
[20:30] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) crouches the Exosuit down so that Fiona can jump out and start exploring around as they both quickly head further inside.
[20:30] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ Okay, we're inside the power facility. No sign of any computer consoles or machinery yet.
[20:33] <Fiona> Wait!
[20:35] * Fiona and Chibi-Alex turn a corner and find themselves inside what looks like an antechamber of sorts. A ramp leads down towards a passage going one direction, while another passage leads around a corner ahead. Right beside them both however is a plinth set beside another barrier field.
[20:36] * Fiona checks the plinth, which flips open to reveal a rectangular cavity in which an alien key-plate needs to be placed. The symbols within are glowing purple.
[20:38] * Fiona takes out the Purple Key she's been carrying and places it within the indentation. The barrier field quickly fades out. Beyond is a room holding another key-plate on a table, but the symbols on the plate are BLUE in color.
[20:38] <Fiona> ♦ FTO, are you reading me?
[20:39] <Monica> ♦ Hey Fiona. What's up?
[20:41] <Fiona> ♦ We've just found something potentially VERY important.
[20:43] <Fiona> ♦ It's another key-plate for these alien barrier shields, but it's a color we haven't run across before now.
[20:44] <Monica> ♦ What color is it this time?
[20:46] <Fiona> ♦ Blue.
[20:47] <Fiona> ♦ So it's keyed to a door we haven't encountered yet.
[20:48] *** Meanwhile, Chibi-Alex has found a pile of ion crystals on a nearby platform and begun gathering them up. She's also in a position to look down each of the other passages.
[20:48] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) suddenly stiffens!!
[20:49] * Chibi-Alex (Mr. Fister) starts bleeding from her nose a little as a POWERFUL telepathic signal reaches out from a distance away, washing over EVERYONE in the FTO as well.

[20:52] <Monica> Alex, is that the voice you've been hearing?!

[20:56] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ And I'm seeing things at the end of the passages. There's an alien teleportal gate here! It's deactivated, but I've got some ion crystals right here to bring it online.
[20:58] <Monica> Well, here's hoping it's friendly. Anyway, is there a way to figure out where the gate leads?
[20:59] <Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister)> ♦ And down the other passage is...that's gotta be our objective.

[21:00] <Fiona> ♦ That's it! That's the heart of this facility. I need to start accessing the data-terminals in there and start communing with whatever machine-spirits this place has.
[21:06] * Fiona rushes towards what looks like the energy regulation chamber while Chibi-Alex marches towards the unpowered teleportal gate.
[21:07] *** Meanwhile, back on the FTO, the submarine is creeping slowly and silently closer to the central mount.
[21:07] <Officer Kagami Hiiragi> Okay, Monica. How well did you think that noise decoy work when you and Sylvester used it?
[21:09] <Monica> Looks like it worked fairly well. Still, we're making another one as a back-up measure, in case we need it.

[21:11] <Monica> No, I was trying to keep myself from laughing too hard and drawing attention back to us.

This one facility is supplying all of the power needs of the Aurora Plateau. 35% of the output is going to the Quarantine Enforcement Platforms. 15% is going to other functions. But HALF of all the power is going to something called the Primary Containment Facility.
[21:37] <Monica> Primary Containment.... any idea where that is relative to your position? We might find answers there.
[21:39] <Fiona> ♦ It's not far from here...apparently less than a kilometer and...300 meters down? I've also downloaded a lot of technical data.
[21:40] *** Suddenly, Chibi-Alex's signal appears again. No...it didn't disappear as that would have triggered an alarm. Her signal MOVED, then moved again.

[22:07] * Monica then takes this moment to dart over to the hill whilst the Seaglide (hopefully) catches the Sea Dragon's attention!
[22:09] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) and Fiona have both reached one of the portals leading outside and quickly push through into the scalding water beyond!
[22:09] *** The Sea Dragon looks perplexed and investigates the source of the strange noises.
[22:10] * Monica quickly darts over to Alex and Fiona, ready to help if the enemy has decided to follow.
[22:10] *** The FTO is piloted into position close to the entrance to the tunnels leading to the power facility and goes silent.
[22:12] * Chibi-Alex (Mr Fister) quickly stomps up to Monica, emerging from the dim, ruddy light of the lava-lit passage and covered with burns and bullet impacts. Mr Fister has definitely sustained damage.

[22:13] <Monica> Here to lend a paw, as an in-case measure. How many enemies were in there?

[22:15] <Fiona> ♦ And I need to spend time analyzing the data I found. I think we can adapt some of the alien technology for OUR use with this.
[22:17] <Monica> Sounds good. Sylvester and I rigged a distraction to keep the Sea Dragon away, so we should have some time to get back.
